It always amazes me that so many business people still travel long distances to meetings. I know that most companies have equipment for conference calls installed in their offices now and so they should have no problem in organising them, they probably even have video phone in some places.

It seems to me that it is always worth having a go at resolving things this way first in order to cut down on costs. I think a lot of people like having a excuse to travel, to visit a new office and just do something a bit different for that day. I think that they tend not to consider the cost to the company, not only in the travel expenses but in the loss of time. They could have been working, but instead they are travelling. I guess some people may not like the idea of making such a call, but it is very simple and I think, once you have done it a few times, it will no longer seem like a problem.

I think it is about time company bosses were encouraging this and even perhaps the government because it could make quite a significant effect on the environment as well. If the government could at least recommend that every other meeting where people had to travel to get there, was replaced by a conference call or web conferencing, imagine what a big difference that could make. It would help the environment, help companies to make money and save a lot of time and effort. It would be interesting as an experiment to see what sort of impact it would have and how much benefit as well. I am self-employed and do not have meetings and so I cannot apply it to my company but it would be great if other people could try to encourage their companies to do it. In a round about way it might help them protect their jobs, because in these volatile times, any way that a company can save money could make the difference as to whether it survives or not. Every little thing is worth a go.

Finding the right video surveillance solution for your office or other commercial uses is not as simple as searching for home video surveillance systems. There are certain aspects that you need to look into in order to make sure that the video surveillance system you are getting is the best one for your office. To help you get started, we are going to talk about several key points you should look into in this article.

First, you need to determine the right storage media for the surveillance system. Different solutions use different methods to store surveillance video. DVR recorders are the most common ones integrated as part of a surveillance system, although you can also use standard tape-based storage systems and other solutions. If you need to record extensive amount of surveillance videos, a good DVR recorder with built-in DVD burner can be a good solution for you.

You must also look into the type of video camera used as part of the system. If you need to cover a lot of outdoor areas, make sure you also get specialized outdoor video surveillance cameras as part of your system. Different models are also available, from the most discrete ones to the extensive and feature-packed surveillance cameras. Look into several options and pick the right video surveillance cameras accordingly.

Of course, you also need to make sure that the solution you are opting for fits your needs and wants perfectly. To do this, simply assess the areas you want to cover with surveillance cameras and determine the right solution to use. If you are dealing with preexisting setups of electrical wires, it might be much more convenient to opt for quality wireless video surveillance system instead; installing wireless cameras is so much easier to do and you can get the system up and running in no time.
