The Sony Ericsson Vivaz

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz was officially announced on 21st January 2010, before being released on 5th March 2010 in the varying colour schemes of Moon Silver, Cosmic Black, Galaxy Blue, and Venus Ruby.  The phone has gained high praise for its compact look and feel, as well as the multiple functions it has to offer, including photography features, HD video recording and playback, music playback, and Internet connectivity.

The camera is located at the rear of the handset, and sits nicely alongside and LED flashlight, it’s not covered by any slider, which makes it both accessible and easy on the eye. On the side, there’s four feature buttons, one for navigating to the camera’s functionality, one for accessing the video feature (start/stop video), one for taking pictures using the camera, and another is a button to set volume control and to zoom in on the camera (depending on which mode is currently active on the screen).

In terms of software – something that Sony Ericsson users are particularly interested in – the Vivaz uses the Symbian operating system; a revolutionary piece of programming that’s now in its 5th Edition. The device also uses the PlayNow service, and the Sony Ericsson mobile content platform, therefore previous users of the manufacturer’s handsets will be familiar with much of the software bundled in. In addition to the usual however, such as GPRS/UMTS/EDGE, the Vivaz makes use of the latest in Wi-Fi technology, and also Bluetooth, both of which are now universal features of most top-end smartphones, and features that contemporary mobile phone users come to rely on to download applications, send multimedia, and access social networking sites from just about anywhere.

Samsung Wave

Do you want a smartphone that flies? The Samsung Wave is one such phone that does this without wings. It is fast thanks to its new processor. It is faster than the “Jet” that Samsung just put out. Take a look at its features here in this fact-packed article on the Samsung Wave S8500.

This Samsung Wave comes with a large battery, quality video camera, beautiful and bright screen, plenty of memory, and is not made with breakable plastic. It is covered in aluminum. This alone would make me choose it over most of the smartphones out there. Let´s get down to the juicier details. The screen is a “super” AMOLED model, and very responsive to touch. The size is 3.3 inches or 8.38 centimeters for those of you not in the United States. It has a capacitive touch screen with multi-touch ability. The screen absolutely beats other screens in quality. It makes other AMOLED screens look like the old LCD standard. What did Samsung do to make the screen so good?

The memory is truly abundant on the S8500. It has 512 megabytes of RAM. This makes it travel at warp speed. This, coupled with the 1000 megahertz Arm Cortex-A8 Samsung processor, make this smartphone blazing fast. Things like swiping the screen for the next page and accessing social networks happen in the blink of an eye. If you are a person who does not have time to wait for a smartphone to do what you want it to do, you will love the S8500.

5 Laptop Accessories

A new laptop is one of the most important purchases that you can make — there’s nothing like being able to use your computer anywhere that you want to go. Unlike desktop computers, a great laptop can help you stay connected even when you have to be far away from home. However, there are a few accessories that can help you get the most out of your new laptop purchase.

1. Wireless Keyboard

In the past, wired solutions were the norm, but today you don’t have to be tied down in any way. A wireless keyboard lets you have more space to type out those important notes to friends and family without being constrained by the small size of a laptop keyboard. Look for a model that allows for fast battery switching.

Wireless Mouse

2. Wireless Mouse

What’s a wireless keyboard without a wireless mouse to go with it? It’s the perfect laptop accessory because you don’t have to stay tethered to the laptop — you could put the laptop on a table and sit on a couch with the keyboard and mouse; the perfect setup for a lazy weekend!

3. Additional Laptop Battery

This is an accessory that gets overlooked a lot but it’s really one of the most important laptop accessories you can buy. After all, batteries run out eventually and you don’t want to be caught in a situation where you can’t get to a charger quickly. This is where an additional battery comes in handy — instead of having to deal with the unplanned downtime, all you have to do is just swap out the battery and you’ll still be ready to rock and roll!

4. Webcam

A webcam is a great way to add an extra touch of personality as you connect with friends and family far away. People really do like to connect a name to a face, and a good webcam lets you give your friends and family exactly what they’re looking for. Look for a webcam that attaches securely to the top or the side of your laptop – this is the best placement for webcam use.

5. External Speakers

If you’re going to invest in a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse, then you will definitely need to add external speakers to the list. Why? It’s a known fact that the default laptop speakers are not the best in terms of quality audio. So if you plan on listening to music for a long time or watching your favorite movies, you definitely want to invest in a pair of good external speakers. There’s awesome speakers in every price range, with the difference being that the higher priced models of external laptop speakers tend to project a greater amount of volume than their less expensive counterparts.

All things considered, buying laptop accessories is a great way to extend the overall usefulness of your laptop. By sticking to the list in this guide, you should have no trouble enjoying your laptop for many years to come!

The Motorola Cliq

The Motorola Cliq, which is carried by T-Mobile, is a device that pulls out all the stops. Designed to keep you connected with your friends in the ever-growing circle of Online and direct networks out there, this is a communication device to rival champions. At least, that is what they are saying!

The Motorola Cliq uses a new type of Motorola designed technology called MotoBlur. This technology actually streamlines feeds from social networking sites, email, Twitter, and text messages – all in one program. The beauty of this is that it brings everything to your inbox so that you don’t have to visit the actual sites to see what your friends are doing. You will not have to go through the hassle of entering your password, either, every time. All you have to do is go into your inbox, and all of your social interactions are right there for you to browse freely!

This is another phone that runs on Google Android, which, as  you all know, is offering some powerful applications. While the phone could potentially get bogged down by the sheer weight of information that it is designed to bring you, it does have it’s moments and that is why you will probably love the phone if you end up buying it.

One downside brought to light about this phone is the fact that the back panel covering the battery is a bit flimsy and hard to get into place. If you abuse it, it might get damaged. However, with care, there is no reason as to why this phone cannot last you a long time! The keypad has a QWERTY layout, which is always nice, and this keypad slides out from underneath the phone when needed.  The keypad is said to be a bit awkward, but with some getting used to, it is functional.

Samsung Wave 533

The Samsung Wave 533 was launched only a few weeks ago by Samsung and already it is having the looks of a potential winner. The phone is about to be priced in the mid-range of the smartphone segment, and with the features on offer, it could easily prove to be one of the most value for money products that money can buy today.

The Samsung Wave 533 wave throws in a lot of goodies for a much lower price tag than you would have expected it to be. The phone features a large 3.2 inch touch screen, and underneath this large screen, the phone houses a full QWERTY keyboard, which makes it the ideal combination of entertainment and business feature, all combined into one great package. The phone runs on the Bada platform that has become very popular in recent years following its great success in the previous Samsung phones.

The phone has a 3.2 megapixel camera. The photo quality is more than decent and you can’t expect more from a phone in this price range, in fact, it could be one of the best camera phones in this price range. The phone comes pre-loaded with a number of Samsung’s own apps and has apps for major social networking sites. Hence, you are never far-off from being in touch with your friends on Facebook. The phone has Wi-Fi and EDGE connectivity to ensure that you remain connected to the web to do so. Other features of the phone include GPS, Bluetooth amongst many others.

The Samsung Wave 533 has been announced in a number of major countries like Germany and now it is finally set to be made available for sale in the United Kingdom. However, the prices and the service provider’s details are still unknown yet but you can find the best deal with mobile phone comparison.

How smartphones have revolutionised the world of online gaming

While online gaming has always been popular, the advent of smartphones has not only changed the way that people play, but also the way in which the games themselves are stored and distributed. As well as increasing the amount of options available for casual and serious gamers alike, the smartphone provides the most flexible way yet to play a variety of different games, with the range of choices available creating something of a gamer’s dream.

The most obvious advantage to being able to play games on your phone is the portable aspect of it. Whereas gamers were once restricted to using consoles or computers, nowadays everything from Zelda to roulette can be accessed on the go, without taking a clunky separate device along with you. Games can now be played anywhere and everywhere: in the doctor’s waiting room, on the bus, while waiting for friends; for the first time, a gamer no longer needs a specific environment or device to get playing.

As a result, more people than ever are accessing and enjoying all kinds of different games. And while beginners are slowly being attracted into online gaming, the smartphone provides the perfect platform for the first timer due to its user-friendly interface and simplistic style of play: if you can use a phone, you can play games on it!

Interestingly, the rapid pace of change within this industry has led to governments scrabbling to keep up. Thanks to the increasing number of people visiting the various types of online casino UK gaming laws have had to undergo significant changes, particularly in terms of providing licences to the companies that produce these games for smartphones in the first place.

For the first time, licences aren’t just being given to actual casinos, but to offices and computer labs where the games are being developed. Similarly, checking that players are over 18 (the legal age for betting and playing casino games in the UK), has sparked a whole new challenge – a mobile, however sophisticated, cannot ascertain somebody’s real age!

There have been changes to the financial aspect of gaming as well. The rise of smartphones has led to games becoming cheaper and cheaper, thanks to increased competition among manufacturers and various platforms. When the technology was relatively new manufacturers could afford to charge a little more for their goods. Now, however, the proliferation of the smartphone has led to a climate of games manufacturers working to constantly undercut their rivals in terms of prices. This is of course excellent for gamers!

As it becomes increasingly easy for the public to create their own mobile gaming app in their bedroom, manufacturers are becoming increasingly keen to stay ahead of the game. Under pressure to come up with ever-more innovative games and technology, manufacturers are pouring money into new developments in the hope that they will be able to find the next big thing. As a result, the market is constantly shifting, with new products coming out all the time; the world of mobile gaming is one of the fastest-moving industries we have today.

It’s indisputable that the technological advances of the last few years have significantly changed the world of online gaming and the way in which gamers can approach their hobby. Thanks to smartphones, games can be accessed and played anytime, anywhere, and the amount of options available to gamers has increased dramatically. But while it would seem that the technological world is at the top of its field, as any gamer knows the next big thing is always just around the corner. Tablet computers have added a fascinating new dimension to mobile gaming, particularly in terms of memory, processing and even screen resolution. While smartphones paved the way, it would seem that the mobile gaming revolution is only just beginning.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Countdown

There are just days to go before the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play mobile phone appears in shops in the UK and we anticipate that the customary queues will be forming in advance; after all who doesn’t want to be one of the first to get their hands on this impressive piece of machinery, well in advance of the Easter Holidays.

Will we be happy with this latest concept in smartphone gaming or will it be that Sony Ericsson has attempted to cross one bridge too far, and real Playstation gaming should be restricted to a real console? Perhaps Android, despite its many benefits as a smartphone operating system, is inferior when it comes to running Playstation games. As they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and the proof of the Xperia Play will be in the gaming capabilities of Android.

So will Android cut the mustard? Well Sony Ericsson has worked very hard with both Sony and Google to make sure that it will. They have also worked directly with third party games producers who are very serious about porting the best of existing play station games to Android along with creating new ones. New tools have also been made available to developers which should help to reduce the development time needed to create a new game.

The fact that mobile gaming on phones is increasing in popularity has been clearly demonstrated by the massive quantity of gaming apps that have been downloaded so far this year. Add to that Playstation certified games and proper Playstation games control buttons and touch pads, then surely it must be a recipe for success.

We think, and certainly we hope, that the effort that has been put in to create the Play and the games to go with it will be a resounding success, but it will still be a few days before we find if our sentiments are justified. For now, if you want to be one of the early birds, then it is time to join the end of the queue. For more infomation visit dialaphone.co.uk
